| Hey ppls Been haunting the Cryx section of the PP site pondering which direction i should go in terms of purchases (because staring at warcasters on the card pdf for too long will do that to you, and ye gotta get models that can take advantage of a warcaster's talents ) can't be bothered with Goreshade, eGoreshade, eGaspy, normal gaspy is a nice assassin beatstick but i might give him a miss, Terminus is a big maybe, skarre is a maybe, eSkarre is a maybe, the Witch coven of Gharlgast (because that floating Egregore orb is strangely cool) are looking useful, but so is a pistol wraith, Deathjack, and a stalker bonejack, wonder if i can give deathjack a miss for a while? He's very powerful but i prefer Nightmare who i already have!and i decided to get a pound sterling price check on things like the Witch Coven and eDeneghra etc etc- from maelstrom games and i spotted these in the 'coming soon' section: http://www.maelstromgames.co.uk/index.php?act=pro&pre=gwk_40k_tyr_eli_301_000http://www.maelstromgames.co.uk/index.php?act=pro&pre=gwk_40k_tyr_eli_401_000This of course means a new Tyranid codex release, which from looks of it will be the 16th of january coming up; i'm bemused how this snuck up on me, and i can't help but notice that either Maelstrom games have a special thing going on with GW to have boxes of hormagaunts/termagaunts individually instead of a box which has a bit of both, or GW are using their heads to make things more convenient for Tyranid collectors looking to beef up their brood sizes without excess squad members which GW historically are good at generating... Just looked and its 12 hormagaunts in a box for what maelstrom reckon will be £13.50 (prices to be confirmed on the 1st)... That still causes bloody excess models to be generated when trying to make a maxed squad of gaunts (32) under 4th edition Tyranid codex! Surely they'll change that in this new upcoming release | |

| do you play nids as well?
both sounds really nasty in the flaff, and GW nids are amazing sculpts. Reackon they will be pretty devestating on the field.
how many point of stuff you got ..(put together)
have you also seen the Horus Heresy board game?

| Well, Tyranids is/was one of the armies that i drifted to at one point during the days when i was addicted to Warhammer 40k, Keiran said he was gonna buy me genestealers, unwanted hormagaunts and termagaunts and the Red Terror but that was months ago. To top it off i haven't played with Tyranids for almost a year... Number of points for Tyranids or Cryx? Tyranids: as it stands currently i have 1055 points (with bio-morphs factored in) not counting the few ripper bases and Red terror. Oh how i remember desiring 3 biovores and lots of spore mines, so i could take advantage of the new blast template rules where partial hits are full hits and how multiple blasts are resolved, so it would be situations like " OMG ITS RAINING SPORE MINES!! THE HORROR, IT BURNS!" Alas, i never did get me hands on those biovores, or the spore mines... Cryx: 80 points of stuff, max points limit i could do with all that is 75 thanks to Warwitch Deneghra's 5 warjack points Haven't heard of a Horus Heresy board game, is it like normal warhammer 40k/combat patrol? edit: THIS pyrovore is what the Biovore SHOULD of looked like when it was first designed! http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1490603&prodId=prod350004aNice Trygon/mawloc, the mouth reminds me of the Predalien from Alien Vs Predator 2: primal hunt for the pc http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1490603&prodId=prod340015aThe Venomthrope http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1490603&prodId=prod370003aShiny HIVE guard (not to be confused with TYRANT guard) http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?prodId=prod370002ai'm gonna stop looking now, the shininess is blinding me!

| Went to the model shop in Northwich to get a new fine detail brush (after i trashed my old one) and before i left i poked my nose into the new tyranid codex at the Pyrovore BLOODY HELL they've really pulled out the stops in this new edition: nice new artwork, new rules (one of which is called 'instinct- feed' which i saw in the pyrovore's rules (something about being able to fire even if affected by the instinct to feed), Trygon is confirmed and since its in the 40k rulebook means its now useable in normal games not just epic (just like how the Imp Valk went) And more importantly, they appear to of brought back the concept of special Tyranid characters, which is interesting considering they removed them in 4th ed because it defeats the concept of the Tyranids being a swarm something-or-other I think one is called 'Hive commander', from the artwork its a Hive Tyrant but this badboy has 4 boneswords
Space marine force commander- "This is blasphemy, this is madness!" Tyranid Hive commander- "Madness... THIS. IS. 5th ED!" -Tyranid Hive commander kicks the force commander into a pit with a reclamation pool at the bottom- Its super effective! Space marine Force commander fainted melted
