| Hey hey ppls With a 35 point WM/Hordes tournie on its way in Febuary, i should to get going with my Cryx army painting! Though i'm too distracted by a debacle of the fact that we can bring 2 lists to the tournie. 1 list is defo gonna be a list focused on Cryx helljack undead-wonder-woman: Master Necrotech Mortenebra But i want to use a different warcaster for the 2nd list. The de-buff goddessWarwitch Deneghra(Gorman De wulf, rogue alchemist will bought and included in her group) With gorman De wulf's rust bombs a target (plus Deneghra's feat and crippling grasp spell) is -7 armour, -8 if she uses parasite instead- a Slayer would give the unlucky target an unholy slapping! The assassin beatstickIron Lich Asphyxious, a teleporting beatstick nightmare He can beat down a caster very easily with his sustained attack, parasite spell and damage roll buff that causes crit corrosion and his feat which gives him all his focus back, against a parasite de-buffed target plus scything touch he's P+S 20, auto-hitting, and he's got 7 focus to make extra attacks plus boosts, if he connects once, the victim's fate is more or less sealed the bloody great powerhouseLich lord Terminus, the closest thing Cryx have to a Butcher of Khardov (Revenant crew of the Atramentous and Captain Rengrave will be bought and included in his group) With Terminus there's some nasty combos involving his ability to pawn off ranged attacks to nearby undead models. Either buy mechanithralls and a surgeon to keep bringing the mechthralls back after they die, or the revenant crew who's unit leader brings back dead grunts automatically during my maintenance phase, also they can charge things and expect to do damage, unlike the mechanithralls. Oh and Terminus makes undead in his mighty CMD 10 range 'tough', including himself i think, making for hard to kill baneknights, his sacrificial pawns will be hard to kill, and he'll be annoying to bring down too. I like the looks of Terminus just now, but thats probably the 'oooh, shiny!' talking in my ear because he's big and a straight-up beatstick that can pwn infantry particularly bad, with abomination thrown in, and deal the hurt on warjacks. I'd have to buy gaspy or Terminus so a poll is much better | |

| Think I would go for Asphyxious as he seems to be the most flexible, and potent according to battlecollege.

| Unfortunate news!
I've been informed that the chances of attending the tournie in febuary is slim, instead opting for one on in January, this strangles the time frame of purchasing models somewhat.
In other words, i won't be able to get Terminus and models needed to help him in time, leaving it between Gaspy and Deneghra, but i'll leave Terminus on the poll just for teh lulz and get him another time...
UNLESS the Dark elves and/or Old chaos Daemons sell, which is unlikely round this time of year, January would be too close

| I've checked my numbers and i don't think i could kit out Gaspy in time, i'll have to be a thrifty Scotsman and just buy Gorman De Wulfe and use Deneghra for my 2nd caster list. Feat and CG plus Gorman's black oil bomb is a death sentence for any warcaster as they'll be floundering around at -6 MAT and -8 DEF among other exceptionally cruel crippling effects, Caine would CRY when the slayer combo strike express rolls into station, and Caine isn't the sort of warcaster i'd see crying I'll leave the poll because i worked so hard on filling the few boxes at the bottom and to see what other people reckon i SHOULD of took if i could Edit: On an unrelated note i've recently discovered that based on current Hordes MkII data, Lylyth has lost blood lure and arcing fire: she's no longer a target painter for murderous, homicidal Shredders But no Carnivean information on the pdf, thats exactly what i was looking for in the first place

| Far as i know there's 1 in Manchester that Alex and me are going to on the 10th of January, there was one on the 7th of febuary in York but he said we'd be unable to go to that one. I don't have the details of the Manchester one but i know the York one was a pair of 35 point lists so for now i'm assuming the Manchester one will be the same. Question: what have ye got in your Retribution army? I'm very eager to start fielding my new goodies! But the question is: Can i make a list cheesy enough to counter tournament level lists which are comprised of Norwegian Jarlsberg or Orkney Cheddar, and how cheesy can i go with my current force? | |

| for your first tourney, dont worry about being high expectations, just get a feel for them, and the other gamers.
after that you will know what to expect from players, and their armies.

| Both the tourneys i played had two types of players people who want to win. and people who just want to have a good game. People who want to win usually play beardy armies like the darius warjack army and the epic thagrosh warbeast army ect. There aren't that many players there who field a beardy list but there is usually one or two. Just look out for them and try your best to counter there towering ego, as anyone can field a beardy list and win.
PS remember the whole point of wargaming!! Have Fun !!

| Just wondering, how common is Eiryss at tournies? Been looking at the MkII card pdf and battle college and realized that a pistol wraith can disable her, and it ain't with deathchill But i'd need to get the model first which i can't do just now Will you be coming to the tournament as well Neal? And whats Andy doing? I Trust you'll be coming along too Tom? The more the merrier This be true, wargaming is meant to be a fun thing! Think i got me answers ready for either warjack heavy or infantry heavy armies, beasties i don't have enough practice against to have a 100% counter to, cheese may take me down but i'm not gonna vent my spleen over it. | |

| I dunnoo just played an MK2 game against alex like 4 hours ago 35 pts. he clarified afew things for me and iv altered my tactics abit but i have less pts then i thought >< going to have to spend the money saved for a life jacket on another heavy jack when they come back in stock and narn, because narn is made of win !! The game went ok for me and alex thought he was gna lose for most of it cos i dominated the play by denying him charge angles and killing most of his kayzay, we were well into our 4 turn when i charged my jacks at his which resulted in a massive amount of nothing due to immensly #### dice rolls and a now exposed ravyn. And to top it off he killed ravyn with one combined ranged attak from winter guard and 3 rockets >< Iv learnt alot from the game however use the invictors more and stormfall archers are exceptional having a 3 damage die 3inch aoe which has a range of 16 due to snipe did half the butchers health and blew up 5 assasins and a point blank explody arrow to the face for the underboss!! loving it !! duno why the elephant but it feels right xP | |

Yes, like no longer being able to throw your own warjack closer to the enemy, using mortenebra's (MkI) jumpstart to pick it back up and THEN charging the thrown jack at an enemy warcaster. Looking back at it: if i knew tricks like that at the time it would of been a great incentive to buy a stalker bonejack and use it as a warcaster fabric softener for a harder hitting assassin unit (though the stalker still appeals under MkII) - The Incredible Tom!! wrote:

Why does that remind me of Legion blighted archers?
