I am not too sure of what you are thinking here. Do you mean a ohysical room, for playing Warhammer 40,000 in? a forum chat room?

Where are you doing this, when is it on, does it do anything else, or just 40k.

Enlighten us beiefly with your plan

Its gonna be a room in my house mainly for playing 40k, but when I get more time/money I may take up other thingfs as well. I'm really looking for ideas on how to decorate it and what sort of furniture/cool extras I can add in. Very Happy

Def go with a 4x4 board.

Try and keep it nice and "universal" so you can play lots of different systems on it.

An area for painting etc will always be good too/

How big is the room?

Will it need to be used for anything or by anybody else?

One last thing, dependant on how big the room is and how adventurous you feel take a look at The Gaming Table of Awesomesauce (Check out page 4 for finished pic's)

One last thing to consider, if money is no object, THE SULTAN!

It may be more geared towards D&D but hey if you have around £10,000 to drop on a gaming table who cares!

Have you seen it though?

Very well made, out of quality wood, and it looks like they have thought of everything!

Hmm I wonder how many of those they sell?

It would appear from all those designs though that a table with drawers for dice etc is the way forward if you can get one (thinking about it I'm sure the ones in the actual GW stores have drawers in them too).

I really do not think it would be difficult to do. Maybe base it on a ready-made table. Especially if you want it to fold up.

I think we should make some modular boards from wood that we could take to the library event.

Funny you should mention that I was speaking to Andy about that very subject at work today.

I think a quick and easy way to make some user friendly boards would be to get some 2x4 sheets of MDF or other cheap wood and cover them in green felt.

Nothing too fancy but with a bit of scenery it could look pretty swish!

Somebody look into pricing this up!

Just had a bit of a tot up for 4 2x4 boards (8x8 total) felt and 6mm thick MDF would work out at just over £20 each - £40 to £50 spend.

Terri's Dad is a builder so if you want I could ask if he could get the MDF any cheaper and I'm sure we could have a look for some cheaper felt.

Let me know.

I think we would be able to get some green (and other colour) Baize - this is what they use on snooker tables.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Dark-Green-Felt-Baize-Fabric-Material_W0QQitemZ250225337286QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Crafts_Fabric_Textiles_SM?hash=item250225337286&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1688|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318

it is very good for gaming on, my dad uses it.
